IAP/Belspo P7/44 project
Integrative Protein Science (iPROS)

iPROS is the acronym for Integrative Protein Science: from small molecules to complex biological systems.
It aims at promoting an integrative protein science approach in order to increase our understanding of protein structure and function, via four major lines of research: (i) protein folding, (ii) protein engineering and protein-ligand interactions, (iii) protein targets against bacterial resistance and (iv) protein supramolecular assemblage and cellular metabolism.

It is an "Interuniversity Attraction Poles" Phase VII (2012-2016) Network project financed by the Belgian Scientific Policy (Belspo) in the life sciences domain.

Professor Bernard Joris from the Center for Protein Engineering is the coordinator of the project.
iPROS assembles a critical mass of scientists (6 belgian partners and 3 foreign partners (UK, FR, NL)) who are recognized in their fields. Indeed, many of the partners are presently considered as world leaders in the proposed study areas.
